Wainscoting
& Paneling:
Advanced Techniques
Program 8
This 2-disc
program is
available NOW for $49.95
| |
With more than two hours of hands-on
video, in Program 8-Advanced Techniques, Katz
and Dixon team up for a tough subject. They begin
with installing skirt boards which form the foundation
for wainscoting. Learn how to install skirt boards
at the proper pitch and the whole project is easier.
Transition style layout is next, with a simple
method for ensuring that all miters align, from
the skirtboard, to the bottom rail, to the top
rail. Afterward, using basic shop tools, they
cut perfect cope & stick joinery, and avoid
multiple acute-angle miters. Finally, Dixon demonstrates
a time-tested method for making raised panels
on the table saw.

Here's
what people are saying about the
Onsite Educational DVD Series:
"If you've never had the chance to see a live
carpentry demonstration by Fine Homebuilding contributing
editor, Gary M. Katz, you're missing out. Katz's "anyone
can do this" attitude draws big crowds at trade shows
from coast to coast. Katz's popular demonstration on mastering
the miter saw is an appropriate choice for his debut DVD."
- Brian Pontolilo, Fine Homebuilding {SEE
THE VIDEO CLIP} "The
DVD was great and I am looking forward to the rest of
the series. What I learned in the first program paid for
itself with improved efficiency on the job." - Andrew
Brown, Clinton, MS "The crown
section of the video will help anyone get a clearer picture
on how to handle this
challenging part of our work." - Gary S.
Wilke, Portage, MI "The best
money-saving tool that I have ever bought. Keep them coming."
- Stan Forcht, Picton, ON
"I have reviewed part 1 and
found it to be the best instructional carpentry video
ever. Please notify me if any other DVD 's of yours are
coming out. Also, if you could recommend any more instructional
print or video. I plan to attend a carpentry trade school
in the near future, but wish to acquire all the knowledge
I can." - Mark Thomas "Thank
you for producing such a great DVD Series. I have been
very impressed with the material, as well as the ability
for the typical lay person to be taught in a very non
threatening fashion (we have started sending it home with
our new employees as "home-work", and it is
definitely shortening the learning curve)." -
Brian G. Johns
"Thanks for the prompt delivery and especially
for the excellent miter saw DVD's. They have already more
than
paid for themselves with the work I did over the weekend!
You mention in the DVD that there are other carpentry
DVD's that either are available or will be in the near
future. I would appreciate some information on how to
order these, or maybe be on an E-mail alert list when
they do become available? Thanks again for a needed and
appreciated product." - Brian Edwards
I bought your videos because I have
my first job of installing crown coming up. Your tips
are fantastic! I didn't know how much I didn't know until
I watched the videos. Now when people see me doing it,
I'll actually look like I know that I'm doing and I've
been doing it for some time instead of the newby that
I am. - Daniel Broadbelt, Pennsylvania
I am a satisfied customer and wanted to tell
you that it is a real pleasure to watch your instructional
dvds on trim carpentry. I am a carpenter but know very
little about trim carpentry, at least not what you know
anyway. Thank you for the educational experience that
would have taken me years to acquire. - Doug
Ridgway, Saskatchewan, Canada
Thank you for the DVDs. I bought both of
them. I have learned how to work more efficiently with
them. I continue to challenge myself to get the job done
quicker without loosing the quality or my reputation.
I plan to utilize the DVD for training of staff as the
business grows. - Chris Kelly, Ohio
Thank you for your DVD program on mastering the miter
saw. I found it extremely helpful and it has sped up my
working considerably. - Joseph Carry, MA
I attended your seminar in March
at the Rhode Island Convention Center. During the seminar
I thought you had a lot of techniques and procedures that
I could use in my business. After having a few months
to try them I have to let you know how well they are working
for me. My absolute favorite has to be pre-assembly of
crown moulding. I just completed a 5 room project where
none of the rooms were just a square box. I started with
only a couple pieces at a time and by the end of the job
the more pieces I could do the better. The joints are
nice and tight, my client especially liked the pre-assembled
splice I used on a 22' run. What a great time saver at
no sacrifice to quality. I also used a triglyph in the
design for the trim on a palladian window. They look great.
Learning some of the terms from Historic Architecture
by Cyril Harris has definitely impressed clients and my
crew as well. I could go on but I think you get the idea.
Your seminar and your passion for finish carpentry are
an inspiration to me. I would like to thank you for devoting
you time and effort to teaching and let you know how much
it is appreciated. - Dan Stone, Hemlock Builders
